Near-field optics is a cross subject, which studies the optical phenomenon of onewavelength from the sample surface. It bases on non-radiative detecting and imaging theory.Near-field scanning optical microscope can break through the diffraction limit, which isrestricted by the normal optical microscope, and it can be used to study the nano-scale opticalimaging and the nano-scale spectrum with high resolution. The optical fiber probe is a crucial portion of all the scanning probe microscopes. Weprovide a simple method to fabricate the bent probe from normal cheap communicationoptical fibers using mechanically drawn and chemical etching for an Atomic force/PhotonScanning Tunneling Microscope (AF/PSTM). By improving the operation and choosing thebest parameters, we obtained the cone angle varying from 60°to 80°and the bent anglevarying from 110°to 120°. The scanning electron microscope (SEM) micrograph showed thatthe apex diameter of the fiber probe obtained by this method was less than 100nm.The optical tweezers is a tool using the light radiative pressure to investigate themicrocosmic and mesoscopic particles Non invasive manipulation of biological particles canbe performed using optical tweezers. The single mode micro-lens optical tweezers systemuses the laser beam emerging from the single mode fiber to manipulate the biologic particles.Comparing with the traditional optical tweezers, it is more compatible, cheaper and morefargoing. The fiber lens is the key component of the fiber tweezers system. In the dissertation,we propose a method to fabricate the fiber lens of the fiber tweezers system using chemicaletching and heating.
