In the depositional stage of the 1st member of Shahejie formation, there happened volcanic events frequently in Shanghe area of Huimin sag, and formed series of volcanic cones in unequal scales in the region of interest, most of which were subaquatic eruption. The highlands or platforms underwater, where the water is not deep and warm , and where the supply of detrital materials of terrigenous origin is not enough, fromed an ideal carbonate sedimentary environment, creating advantages for biogenic limestone and dolomite. During the research, first conclute the identification signs of the carbonate rock according to the datum of seismic, logging , core and so on. And on the basis , identify the carbonate rocks and demarcate their stratigraphic position . Second ,on the basis of discerning the volcanic events of the 1st member of Shahejie formation, study the carbonate forming model and the facies distribution, and conclute three distributive models. Third, by means of thin slice, SEM, FMI and so on, analyse the microscopic features of the carbonate reservoir, including carbonate mineral components, poroperm characteristics, the types of storage room and so on. Fourth, after analysing the main factors influencing storage of the carbonate reservoir, it is thought that the main factors influencing storage of the carbonate reservoir is depositional environment and the second is tectonic action. Fifth , combining the distribution, facies and physical property, anticipate the beneficial facies belts of the 1st member of Shahejie formation in this area, supplying the direction to exploration and exploitation.
