The Study On Play And Drilling Target Of Block 1, Yemen.

This paper researched petroleum geological character, oil and gas reservoir formation condition and the importance of all play of Block 1 in Yemen, analyzed the exploration potential and pointed out play.The pre-rift sequence are mainly composed of carbonate platform sedimentary, syn-rift sequence are basin facies mudstone, post-rift sequence are mainly mudstone deposited in continental shelf facies, and some evaporate rock. The tectonic framework of Yemen block 1 characterized"two depression alternates with two rift"in layout ; the source rock distributes around depressions, its thickness is decreased outward the depressions, the source rock characterized high organic abundance, big thickness, multiple organic type and moderate maturity. Shuqra formation develops dolomite with a lot pore. Magraf-Rawdah and Reem tectonic belt are play with good reservoir. Sabatayn formation is regional seal which localized in the north of block 1. There are three play which includes up-salt, intra-salt and below-salt play. There are three kinds of reservoir formation model, the first one is (fault) anticline model, the other are lithologic trap model and fault block model. Magraf trap group is the favorite play.
