Kaolinite is a kind of layer silicate mineral material. Its products have aimed at high grade, special purpose, fine and function in the world. Its a series of deep process have been used in paper-making, plastic material, rubber, coating material, chemical industry and so on.The aim of this paper was to prepare superfine kaolinite with the special energy forms of ultrasonic.Firstly, the concentration of suspending liquid, dispersant style, dispersant contents and pH value were determined by purifying experiment of kaolinite.Secondly, the behaviors of kaolinite (coal-bearing, SuZhou, MaoMing) and intercalation compounds were studied with IR, XRD, TA and SEM. The results show that inner hydroxyl vibrational frequency is not affect by intercalation and the inner surface hydroxyl vibrational frequency disappeared as a result of intercalation of postassium acetate into kaolinite. The solution of postassium acetate used to intercalate was not processed and then repeated intercalated experiment. The intercalated effect was the same as initial solution. The 001 peak is narrow and sharp, the d(001) value enlarges from 0.72nm to 1.42nm, and the intercalation ratio is nearly 80%. The temperature of escape of interlayer water is at about 100℃and the decomposition of intercalated compound is at 400-500℃. According to the analyses, the author considers that the intercalated reaction between postassium acetate and kaolinite is achieved by broken of interlayer hydrogen bond and the formation of new hydrogen bond with intercalated molecule.Thirdly, according to the interlayer bonding force become weakened after intercalation, the studies about ultrasonic peeling of three kaolinite were done under different conditions. The results show that the ultrasonic peeling effect of kaolinite is best at concentration 10%, volume 200ml, ultrasonic time 15min and pH 7. The grain content of -2μm is about 95%. The ultrasonic peeling effect is different for several of kaolinite. Among the three kaolinite, the grain content of -2μm is Mao ming kaolinite>coal-bearing kaolinite>Su zhou kaolinite.The experimental study on the modification of coal-bearing kaolinite was achieved with calcium stearate, stearinic acid and urea. The results show that the grain content of nanophase is about 30% after modified. The grain content of -2μm is about 100%. The modified effects is urea> calcium stearate>stearinic acid. So the grain of kaolinite becomes fine.
