Nowadays, more and more structures of plates and shells are applied in the engineering, such as the ship's deck and shell, the jacket of the platform. However, regarding this kind of plates and shells structure, they are possibly subjected to the quite serious vibration in the practical use. The vibration can affect the function of the precise instrument, reduce the processing precision, aggravate the component fatigue wear, and reduce the service life of the machine. Vibration can affect structure itself safe and its normal use. Therefore, we need to study the vibration characteristic of thin plate, and control its vibration.The rectangular thin plates of simply supported on four sides are studied theoretically in this article, and an engineering example is given and simulated numerically by software Matlab. The main work is as follows:The free vibration of thin plate with exciter and actuator is analyzed by energy method. One method is that the vibration exciter and actuator are considered as concentrated mass; the other is that the vibration exciter and actuator are considered as distributed mass in certain region. The natural frequency of plates of simply supported on four sides with two methods are derived in this paper.Dynamic response of plates of simply supported on four sides are calculated numerically considering only one mass mounted on the plate and both of masses mounted on the plate.It is compared that the dynamic response of plates of simply supported on four sides under two conditions of only vibration exciter's affect and the vibration exciter and actuator together affect by Matlab. The results show that the remarkable vibration control.
