The chaotic laser has been widely used in the optical information technology and the secret communication technology. A real chaotic system has many variables, but only one or more of them can be detected. We can't obtain the internal characteristics of the system directly, the only thing that can be obtained is the time series of some variables. In recent years, the technique of phase space reconstruction is applied to construct the attractor from single variable information and analyse the internal characteristics of the system. Therefore, it is very important of phase space reconstruction for the practical application of chaos theory.On the basis of the method of delays and embedding theorem, the theory and methods of phase space reconstruction are investigated in the thesis. The validity of the method is proved by being applied to the Lorenz system and Rossler system. Numerical simulation is completed for the phase space reconstruction of the chaotic time series which is created by the semiconductor laser and laid the foundation for the further study of the dynamics of chaotic laser.
