In 1303, a boisterous earthquake happened in Hongdong Region, Shanxi Province which was graded in 8th. Just after 392 years, another tremendous earthquake happened just 45km away from it. Now, more than 300 years passed, whether the next exterminated earthquake will happen in turn is concerned. So, the aim fo this article is to make a synthesized evaluation to fatalness in Hongtong Region. To find the fault which led to the earthquake in 1303.The epicenter of that earthquake lies in Linfen Basin, which keep sedimentating since it was born. It's sedimentation rate is higher compared with other basins. There are two views about which fault led to the broke of the earthquake, Huoshan piedmont Fault or Chiyu Fault. I found a number of geological remnants fo the strong earthake lies by Huoshan piedmont Fault, such as sand arteries, faultages, ridges, etc. They walk up to the same aspect with Huoshan piedmont Fault which indicate they were born by the activity of Huoshan piedmont Fault.When it comes to the wheel of the boisterous earthquake, many people will take the period between 1303 and 1695 into consideration. But we have made sure that that 2 earthquake was led by different fault. So, it's no meaningful to talk that about.Hongdong earthquake was led by the activity of Huoshan piedmont Fault. Now the fault is in a peaceful period. Linfen Basin continues to subside, but which was it's custom and little change happened. So, both Huoshan piedmont Fault and Linfen Basin would not take movement to lead to the next earthquake. While Shanxi earthquake zone and a bigger zone-Huabei earthquake zone keeps in a descend earthquake occurance and the epicenter is moving toward south. So, the possibility that strong earthquake happens in Hongdong Region is low.
