The Spectroscopy Study Of β-Zn₃BPO₇ Crystal

THz electromagnetic wave is also called THz radiation,usually point tobandwidth on frequencies 0.1 to 10THz. The bandwidth centers on the frequencies 0.3to 3 THz has been usually studied,THz wave is situated between infrared andmicrowave.THz technology is a very important intercrossed subject. Because of its specialposition in the electromagnetic wave band,the THz wave technology has greatacademic and applying value(some has already taken into practice).It makes goodchance for the technology innovation,the development of national economy andnational defense works. And it abstains close attentions by the internationalgovernments.Absorption coefficient and index of refraction of the(β-Zn₃BPO₇)crystal havebeen obtained by terahertz time domain spectroscopy (THz-TDS). The sample was cutalong (001) plane. Detected the T-ray pulse of the reference time domain waveformand the signal time domain waveform permeated the sample in the THz-TDS. Thefrequency domain waveforms,include amplitude and phase,are obtained afterFourier transform. Then absorption coefficient,index of refraction and dielectricconstant can be calculated by the process. As can be seen in the result,there are manypeaks in the absorption spectrum,the frequencies of some main sharp-pointed peaksare at 1.396,2.002,2.476 and 2.674 THz respectively. It shows many latticevibration models in the crystal locate in this THz wave band.Transmission and reflection spectrum of theβ-Zn₃BPO₇ samples from the infraredlight–visible light-ultraviolet light (wavelength: 200nm-2000nm) have been alsomeasured. The absorption coefficient can be calculated by transmission and reflectionspectrum. When known the reflection spectrum,the optical constants,such as thedielectric,conductivity,absorption coefficient and the refraction of index,can becalculated in terms of the Kramers-Kronig relations.
