Application Of Virtual Reality Technology In 3D Geosciences Modeling Research

With the development of Visualization of Scientific Computing and Computer Simulation in Geological data,3D Geosciences Modeling has been a research and development hot spot in the fields of the Geology,Oil Exploration,Geotechnical engineering and GIS.This paper devotes to the 3D visualization of geological space,take the TianJin Institute of Urban Construction as the example,uses Multigen Creator/Vega Prime and other assistant softwares to complete integrated modeling of terrain,overground and underground entities,and realized real walkthrough and mutual.The following aspects were discussed in this paper.1,The 3D environment of campus'scene was constructed by using the professional modeling software- Multigen Creator and 3dsMax.The paper, researched the technology of scene integration and attemper manage, and proposed the effective approaches for real-time improvement from the aspect of structure optimizing and modeling optimizing.2,3D Geosciences Modeling was Realized under the VC++platform. Based on the discrete and distributed drill data, the paper used multi-layer DEM surfaces modeling method, combining the Multigen OpenFlight API, and established the 3D geosciences modeling database which can be represented in Multigen Creator, and constructed effectually the complex geosciences scene. And use Multigen Creator complete integrated modeling of terrain,overground and underground entities.3,The technology of 2D-digital map Navigation was researched. It overcame the maze feel reflected on the roams in 3D scene. The main essential technology involved in the process of real-time roam was researched and the scene walkthrough and 3D information inquiry approach was accomplished.
