Tunnel is the important structure in highway construction, due to the factors of geologic, construction and design, there has been a series of diseases, the most common of which is cracking tunnel lining. The mechanism of Cracking tunnel lining without any major progress in long time, cracking reasons were also unclear. Papers based on fracture mechanics, mechanics of concrete fracture, as well as finite element analysis, the structure of the tunnel lining cracking has been analyzed by theory and numerical simulation. The main research work completed the following:(1) Aggregated concrete fracture mechanics in recent years on the basis of research results, highway tunnel lining problems should be taken seriously and resolved;(2) As analyzing the investigation results of Zhuyewu tunnel lining cracking in Chunkai highway, we determined the harmfulness and importance of longitudinal crack on arch crown in tunnel lining structure;(3) Use of the theory of fracture mechanics, the fracture behavior of highway tunnel longitudinal crack on arch crown has been analyzed. The stress intensity factor formula at simple load circumstances has been drawen, tried to explain the tunnel lining cracking mechanism;(4) Numerical calculation for tunnel lining with ANSYS, compareing and analyzing the results of different crack depth, and the stress intensity factor by the depth of cracks in the law has been drawen. At the same time, by contrasting the theoretical and numerical solutions, proved the effectiveness and accuracy of the fracture mechanics in the tunnel lining cracking, and given the suggestiongs that the problem in this area needs to be further explored and improved.
