The Designing Research On Land Degradation Monitoring System

Land degradation has become the most serious environmental and socio-economic problems in the world, because the human factors and natural factors resulted in the soil erosion, land desertification,land Stalinization and land contamination which have been seriously damaged the land resource. China is one of the most serious countries of land degradation in the world and land degradation research has been for 50 years.Through the study by monitoring of land degradation indicator system and monitoring system , the paper found problems and used our country's agriculture, water conservancy, land and natural resources and other departments of land resources monitoring data from a macro and typical location (land desertification, Stalinization, soil erosion) to construct the framework of land degradation monitoring indicators system, accessed the status of land degradation and the development trend information in order to provide the basic data for the control of land degradation and the sustainable use of land resources.Now there is a lot of deficiencies in our country's land degradation monitoring system, with the establishing and perfecting the data sharing mechanisms of the agriculture, water conservancy, land and natural resources, setting up a technology system, management system and support system of land degradation monitoring system for China's resources and economic development is an important academic value and practical significance.The paper's main contents and results are:(1)The paper review and comment on the domestic and international research of land degradation monitoring and assessment and the study of the land degradation monitoring system and introduce the concept ,type and cause of land degradation, define the paper's concept and types of the land degradation;Introduct the main content of land degradation monitoring, climate classification, the degree of monitoring and assessment and the basis for determining the degree of degradation briefly, also introduce the land degradation monitoring and assessment index system, the theoretical basis for monitoring and the means and methods. (2)There are several inadequate in our country's land degradation monitoring indicator system as follows:â‘ the goal is not clear of the index system, the selected indicators can not reflect the degree of land degradation ; some indicators cause the waste of human and financial resources;â‘¡land degradation monitoring based on different time and space scales which caused massive waste of the monitoring data because of the difficulty in data transferring;â‘¢monitoring system related to our country's forestry, agriculture, land and other departments, all levels of technical standards can not be unified.(3)The paper analyze the feasibility of the construction of land degradation monitoring system and construct land degradation monitoring indicator system from the macro and the typical location (land desertification, land Stalinization and soil erosion); Land degradation monitoring indicators system include land use, land degradation type vegetation factors, geological features factor, surface condition factor, hydrology, climate factors, socio-economic factors and human factors. Based on the different purpose of degradation monitoring and types, select different monitoring indicators and construct different monitoring system; established a system of indicators and evaluate the extent of degradation by selecting the typical indicators of land desertification, Stalinization and soil erosion.(4)With the establishment of monitoring indicators of land degradation and 3S system integration technology, the paper design land degradation monitoring network system that based on the typical national monitoring and surveillance as the main location, fusion the technology system, management system and support system.
