In this dissertation, optical rectification effect of chiral molecular medium is investigated based on classical model of chiral molecules. The way in which we obtain optimal optical rectification effect by adjusting chiral molecular microscopic parameters and an incident angle and wavelength of incident light is given from theoretically for the first time to our knowledge. This method provides a theoretical basis and reference for designing and synthesizing the material of having strong optical nonlinearity.In this dissertation, the research progress of the optical rectification effect of the various non-symmetric quantum well, crystal, semiconductor surface and metal surface etc. are reviewed, the potential applications of optical rectification effect are pointed out, meanwhile, the research actuality of chiral materials and the optical rectification effect of chiral molecular solution is summarized.Chiral molecular medium polarization and the relation between chiral molecular polarization and medium polarization are studied, and the expression between the microscopic first hyperpolarizabilities of chiral molecular and its medium surface zero frequency macroscopic polarizabilities is given based on classical model of chiral molecules.The zero frequency first hyperpolarizability of chiral molecules is deduced separately for the chiral molecules with the tripod-like structure, the helix structure and having two electric oscillation centers structure based on classical nonlinear model of chiral molecules; the zero frequency first hyperpolarizability of chiral molecules with having two electric oscillation centers structure, considering electric field gradient, is also calculated. Optical rectification effect for different configurative chiral molecules medium surface is investigated, and the expression of optical rectification effect of films medium surface is given; the mechanism of optical rectification effect of different structured chiral molecules bulk medium is also investigated.The influence of chiral molecular structure and molecular non-symmetric degree (namely the chirality of molecule) on optical rectification effect of films medium surface is simulated numerically, the influence of an incident angle and wavelength of incident light on optical rectification effect of films medium surface is also simulated numerically.
