Research On Seismic Data Interpretation And Exploration Goal At West Of North Piedmont In The Turpan-Hami Basin

Study on structure interpretation and exploration goal is the emphases of the research of north piedmont in the Turpan-Hami Basin,In order to improve the entire geologic understanding of the west of north piedmont, we joined the Seismicdata acquisition,processing and interpretation integration in the early research, then made an obvious improvement of the Seismicdata quality and imaging affection, and built a foundation for further research.In this paper, we calibrated the seismogeological horizon using the fine synthetic seismogram and VSP log data, unified the divisions of strata with the regional data, and used Te,Tj2q,Tj1b as the marker horizons of the interpretation. Through the traditional interpretation,we cleaned the fault character further using seismic attribution technique and coherent data object. There are two major series of faults in the west of north piedmont. one is the fault with extension of east to west formed by the north-to-south compressional action, the other is the strike-slip fault nearly extending north to south formed by the differential stress. Through the structural mapping, we confirmed the structural feature, reviewed and confirmed 96 traps of various series of strata, found out 5 new traps, and defined the structural character of"zoning in SN and blocking in EW"in this area. We also defined the future exploration direction of north piedmont. Because of relatively smooth tectonic movement, relatively developed reservoir and developed pale-setting of Himalayan period and Yansan period, three folded zones are the main areas of searching exploration goals and making reservoir evaluation in piedmont. The major target strata are reservoir-cap assemblage on Xishanyao Formation, Sanjianfang Formation of Jurassic. At present, the beneficial areas are Qiquanhu structural trends, Akedashi structural trends and Shanle structural trends.The research of topic is more closely combined with the production. In the process of research, we gave the suggestion of drilling Well Quan 2 and Well Quan 4 to user in time through target evaluation. Through test, the two wells had commercial oil and gas flow productively with 178t/d and 187t/d selectively, they show excellent effect. In this paper, I summarized the research thinking and methods of the foreland thrust belt in system, and built a foundation for the future research of prestack depth migration, sequence analysis and reservoir inversion.
