In recent years, with the break through of the extration technology and the enlargement of exploartion investment, the exploration of Carlin type gold deposit has gained significant development. And Carlin type gold deposit has become one of the most important gold deposit type in China. The Shuiyindong Carlin type gold deposit locates in the Huijiabao mine field which belongs to the gold concentrated area in the southwestern Guizhou. It is a super large underlying deposit which is discovered under the instruction of metallogenic prognosis. As a typical deposit in the southwestern of Guizhou, it exhibits large scale and high grade and it is still quite potential to enlarge its resources.The author has done the field work twice in the Shuiyindong mining district, collected samples of rocks and ores, systematically compiled cores in the exploration area, described the polished and section, test samples for major and trace elements by ICP-MS, for pyrite and aesenopyrite by electron microprobe, for sulfide by sulfur isotopes and carbonate by carbon-oxygen isotopes, and for biotite from the ultramafic by Ar-Ar dating.Here are some conclusions:1. Shuiyindong gold deposit locates on the convergent area between the Yangtze platform and the Hua'nan fold system. Its structure background is very specal. The long and complex structure evolution is one of the favourable metallogenic conditions for the southwestern Guizhou area. The deposits are all controlled by structure strictly. For Shuiyindong, the main ore-controll structures are reversed faults, level slip plane and level strips belts.2. Shuiyindong gold deposit is hosted in the lower Permian Longtan formation which belongs to the Longtoushan gold-bearing sequence of strata. The favorable lithology of the deposit is composed of the sedimentary series of clayrock-limestone-clayrock. And the lithology is the key point to the deposit's high grade;3. The gold-bearing minerals of the depsit are pyrite and arsenopyrite, and pyrite is the main gold-bearing minerals. And the pyrite can be divided into sedimentary phase and hydrothermal phase. Au is mainly hosted within the arsenic-bearing pyrite which belong to hydrothermal phase. There are two gold occurrence: a. invisible gold in the band of the arsenic-bearing pyrite; b. visible gold on the surface of arsenic-bearing pyrite;4. The element combination of the deposit is Au,As,Hg,Sb,Bi,Ag,W,Tl. The relationship between Au content and REE of the ores is counter-ralated. And the low REE is a symbol of the high grade ore.5. The stucture evolution and the isotopes study show the multi sources of the ore-forming materials.6.Through the comparison between Shuiyindong and other Carlin-type deposits in southwestern Guizhou, and the comparison between similar deposits home and abroad, it is suggested that there are some similar metallogenic characters of Carlin-type gold deposit, such as ore-controll structure, ore characteristic, rock alteration, gold occurrence, element combination. And depending on the comparison, the thesis discuss the prospecting orientation of the carlin type gold deposits in China.7. A metallogenic model of the Shuiyindong gold deposit has been advanced and a deposit type has also been established, i.e the Shuiyindong type gold deposit. And it is suggested that there is a very good prospecting perspective in the depth at Shuiyindong gold deposit.
