The technology of hydrocarbon reservoir protection is a systematic project through oilfield exploratory development process. In the long-term practice, people find that hydrocarbon reservoir can be damaged in the whole production process. There are two main causes of the damage: firstly, the feature of the hydrocarbon reservoir, secondly, the various operations and technologic measures. Meanwhile, the two aspects interact with each other, which make the effective permeability decreases. Once hydrocarbon reservoir damage occurs, the development effects will be affected directly. Hydrocarbon reservoir protection should be paied more attention especially for low permeability reservoir. This paper studied the main cause for hydrocarbon reservoir damage. Associated with the reservoir geology of Jin150 block in Jinzhou oil production factor, core analyses are made, and meanwhile, sensibility evaluation of this block are made. According to the evaluation results, when injection, operation, acid treating, fracturing and other application, injecting fluid must coordinate with formation, clay inhibitor should be selected, in order to prevent reservoir from damage. To the reservoir that damage has existed, some release technologies are applied. The hydrocarbon reservoir protection technologies are applied to guide the development of Jin150 block and make better results. The formational pressure of the entire block restores the daily fluid production and the daily oil production increases, the water ratio declines, the oil production rate of the block increases from 2.13% to 3.06%.
