This paper primarily studied the bending of thick rectangular plates under hydraulic pressure and it is applications. Concretely, according to reciprocal theorem method of the bending of thick rectangular plates, this paper solved the bending of thick rectangular plate under hydraulic pressure with different boundary conditions. Meanwhile, after every category of examples, this paper analyzed the results adopted. It includes three parts: some fundamental theory, some examples are calculated and analyzed, applications in engineering design.Firstly, Reissner's theory is introduced and it is fundamental equations are given. Secondly, it introduce reciprocal theorem, it is modified proposition and the new system of reciprocal theorem which are the basis of the calculation in this paper. Finally the basic solution of thick rectangular plate is given, the reciprocal theorem of bending of thick plates is concluded, and the exact free corner static conditions is introduced, meanwhile, the rightness of solving the problems of bending of thick plates by using the theorem is tested and verified. The deflection function is numerical values of bending thick plate under hydraulic pressure with six kinds of different edge conditions given. During the analysis of these examples, the tables and graphs are displayed to illustrate the results worked out and compare traditional results with results from ANSYS.A simple application, calculating the internal force of the wainscot of rectangular pool under hydraulic pressure, is resolved with reciprocal theorem method of thick rectangular plate. At the same time the results are educed by the way of engineering design, and two results are compared. It is proved that the study is valuable on theory and practicality.
