The quasi-solution of the equations is the usual formω(x,t)= 1+e(mx+nt+ξ0)when homogeneous balance method is employed to solve nonlinear partial differential equations.The present paper attempts to extend the form of quasi-solutionω(x,t)=1+e(mx+nt+ξ0) toω(x,t)=mx+nt+ξ0 andω(x,t)=A+Be(mx+nt+ξ0) and further obtain a more general form of exact solutions of Burgers equation,the modified Kawahara equation,KdV equation,Boussinesq equation,Boussinesq equations,Whitham-Broer-Kaup equations,Sharma-Tasso-Olver equation by using an extended homogeneous balance method.
