The present paper states is based on COMGIS technology to redevelop to the Geologic Spatial Database, research usage the MAPGIS carries on the method of the module development, discussing science of the exaltation spatial data quantity the technique of the reasonable.The spatial data is the digital earth foundation information, the most of the digital Earth function will take the spatial data as the foundation. Now the spatial data has widely been applied in social all walks of life, all department, such as the mineral exploration, city planning, transportation, bank, spaceflight etc. Along with the development of science and society, We have already known the spatial data more and more for the society the development, improvement of people living standard. It also speeds up the step for the people to obtain and apply the spatial data.The geological survey work is very complicated, involve wide professional and a great deal of data. There are thousands of graphic primitive and several ten of layers in the geological mapping, analysis work in it involve several of spatial databases. This kind of complex work needs the application of the GIS to solve. At the field of GIS, Secondary development of application based on components just play the more and more important role, the COMGIS is the new generation GIS based on component development. It is the new technical system that solves the problem faced by GIS. The paper research the component development method of the GIS by the numbers, set out from the actual geologic spatial database, taken the MAPGIS tool software as the GIS secondary development platform. It is making use of the VB6.0 to develop, and applying component technology to build up the geologic spatial database management system, which is meeting actual demanding beauty, and practical for the geological worker. So it can unify to manage the spatial data and attribute data, provide the spatial searches, make the user obtain the geologic information data expediently. Not only the system improve the work efficiency, but also exert the social value of the geologic spatial database well.
