Composite materials have been widely used because of its superior characteristics. Laminated composite plate and shell have become important structural components in aviation, aerospace, petrochemical, pressure vessels, civil construction and other projects. Therefore, the nonlinear problems of the composite laminated plate and shell have important theoretical and practical significance. In the construction and precision instrument and other projects, we often use truncated shallow shells with a hardware center. These shells under the concentrated load, in certain conditions, will lose stability. For construction projects, we need to prevent this phenomenon from happening; for precision instruments, we should use the jump generated by instability as a control signal. Since this issue involves the non-linear mathematical problems, the complex structure, they have brought tremendous difficulties to the research. This paper is study on the nonlinear stability of symmetrically laminated cylindrically orthotropic truncated shallow spherical shell under the concentrated load including transverse shear. Firstly, on the flexibility assumption, including transverse shear, we establish the nonlinear equations of laminated shallow spherical shell under a uniformly distributed load with Hamilton's principle, then we receive the equations of truncated laminated shallow spherical shell under the concentrated load with the using of equivalent method. Secondly, obtaining non-dimensional equations, using the modified iteration method, we receive the load - deflection relationship and the expression of critical load. Finally, author validates the front of theoretical analysis using a numerical example and analyzes the possibility of buckling. At the sane time, author also consider the influence of geometric parameters, shear stiffness and opening radius of the shell on critical load.
