Alpine lakes in Mayinghai, which is consisted of fresh lakes that lie in natural mountain crest, covers areas of 5 km2, locked in north of Lvliang mountain, northwest of Shanxi Province and in midstream of Yellow Revier. It arises 1600—2787 meter above sea level.Aquatic vescular plants, as mainly natural resource, plays an important role in social economic development, especially in accelerating economic construction and sustainable development of ecological environment. It can help us to know the composition of alpin lakes in Mayinghai, and reveal the germination of ecosystem. Nowadays, as exploitation of wetland resource and destruction of environment resource, its resource becomes deterioration gradually. Thus, it is significant for us to research on the compositon of aquatic vescular plants in alpine lakes.More than 300 plants, which are deposited in the Herbarium of Shanxi University (SXU), are distinguished. 24 families, 42 genera and 55 species (including varieties) of aquatic vascular plants are described in this paper. Among them, there are 7 families, 6 genera and 7 species are reported for the first time in Shanxi Province. They are Equisetum fluviatile L., Potamogeton lucens Linn., Ruppia maritima Linn, Hydrilla verticillata (Linn. f) Royle, Polygonum tenellum Blume var. micranthum (Meisn.) C. Y. Wu, Hippuris vulgaris L., Utricularia aurea Lour.In this research, the habitat and geographic composition of aquatic plants are analysised. The research indicated that "Cosmopolitan" and "North Temperate" are mainly flora distribution; medical plants are foremost in resource utilization; "aquatic plant" and "Submerged anchored hydrophytes" are primary plants in habitat diversification.The research on flora distribution about aquatic vescular plants in alpine lakes indicated that it is visible dominance in quatitatively fo圷?e Family with one genus and one species. The research on geography composition show that Cosmopolitan is the mainly distribution for Family; Cosmopolitan and North Temperate are mainly distributions for Genus,meanwhile the distribution with Pantropic and Trop. Asia & Trop. Australasia is also obvious. It is also indicated the origin from tropic. The flora distribution on species is lack of Chinese specials, which indicated there is no Chinese special species.The research on the life forms about aquatic vescular plants showed that aquatic plant and emergent anchored hydrophytes are mainly plants, and with a plot of Submerged anchored hydrophytes and floating-leaved anchored hydrohytes.The research on resource utilities in aquatic vescular plants indicated that plants using for medicine are comparatively abundant, others are scarce.The results show that it is abundant in species and obvious in Family (contain one genus), Genus (contain one species); it is complex in geographical elements, but scarcity in specific species of China.
