In this paper, the flush process of toilets are studied and a set of numerical research schemes is put forward by means of VOF method and Fluent which is a kind of CFD software. And a primary proposition for optimizing toilet is put forward too. The main research includes:(1) On the base of analyzing the characteristic of flush process and introducing the concept of ordure equivalent, the corresponding physical model is set up and simplified as a three-dimension unsteady multi-phase flow with free surface.(2) The three-dimension unsteady multi-phase flow with free surface is simulated with the VOF method and different cases are simulated and analyzed.(3) The flushing performances under the influence of pressure, velocity, flush range and flush volume are analyzed.(4) Comparing with the result of analyzing toilet, some proposition for optimizing toilet which has the certain referential meaning is put forward.A numerical stimulant mean of flush process by making use of FLUENT is set up in this paper. The combination of experiment and simulation to analyze the flush process of toilets will be able to set up a criterion of flushing performances on the base of this paper, which will not only save developing cost and reduce the developing time, but also provide foundation for creating high-powered toilet, with great practical and economic value.
