Mud-logging working is an important part of oil exploration project and a basic technology of oil and gas exploration and development activities. It is one of the most timely and directly method to find and eliminate the oil and gas field. At present, the team mode of mud-logging company disperses the technology power and makes the staff working at the scene of a great intensity. It makes the company manage the projects and deal with problems not immediately for the oil field distributing in a large-scale. It is necessary to change the present working mode and realize remote mud-logging system.This system consists of two main parts, which are remote control center and mud-logging data collection part. Remote control center is in charge of data processing, analysis and fault diagnosis. Mud-logging data collection part is mainly in charge of real-time data acquisition and condition monitoring. The main work of this article is the whole designing of system and realizing mud-logging data collection part. The mud-logging data collection part consists of well data collection module and industrial computer collection software. The well data collection module is a embedded module based on C8051F040 of Cygnal company which can collect both analog signal and pulse signal, and transmit data with DeviceNet protocol via CAN bus. The industrial computer data collection software is a C/S structure software. Server software is on industrial computer which uses to collection various kinds of data via CAN bus and save data to the database. Server software also takes charge of data backup and transmits the collection data to the datacenter via TCP/IP. Client softer can setup on PC which provides configure and display function. It takes charge of the selection of sensors, configuration of sensors and adjusting functions. It also provides display function both by chart and digital mode.In addition, A dual fault tolerance system has been designed which was in allusion to the problem of the lost of data and the back up of data in oil field. It can realize the unattended system and improve the robust of the whole system.
