The landslide disaster is high frequency in our country. The large-scale landslide brought the enormous life and property loss to society and people in China. With the development of sensor technology, a distributed real-time network monitoring system has been applied preliminarily in other engineering fields. Considering the powerful distribution feature, the paper attempted to apply the technique in the slope monitoring. The paper studied preliminarily the basic theory of slope monitoring based on BOTDR, in which it analyzed the key technical points and established the framework of the monitoring system grounded on BOTDR. The paper brought forward some solutions of these key problems in practical application and demonstrated the feasibility. The study in this paper mainly focuses on the following several aspects:1. Through investigating the development and present situation of slope monitoring, the paper proposed the basic components and functions of the monitoring system as well as the key technologies, mastered the development status of all kinds of sensor technology.2. The paper has summarized the relationship between the slope structures and the characteristic parameters by deep studying the fundamental theory of the slope monitoring and fully recognizing the mechanism and morphology characteristics.3. The key strongpoints of the slope monitoring were found at present, through analyzing the shortcomings of the monitoring technique and system. Mastered the monitoring theory based on the distributed fiber sensing monitor technique (BOTDR), the paper summarized the essentials of the technique.4. The paper studied the compositions of the system based on the fiber-optic sensor---BOTDR, the framework of which was builded up.5. Through referring the multi-point loading test of others, the paper demonstrated the feasibility that obtaining the slope spatial displacement distribution by means of the three-dimensional fiber monitoring network.6. Using a specific observation and engineering as an example, the paper demonstrated that the spatial monitoring area and the precision could be determined by the numerical simulation.
