| The WebGIS of Beijing Olympic Games is one of the command systems which provide data for the Main Operation Center (MOC) of the Olympic Games. The main task of the WebGIS is to provide the real-time data for the commander of the MOC. This System was designed and developed under the requirement of the MOC.This is a multi-user system. Lots of computers access to this system. These clients have different operating system in the whole network system. Using the B/S mode to develop this system can deal with the request of different operating system. This system developed by using Ajax .NET and the ArcIMS of the ESRI. The paper's main research content as follows:(1) The basic principles of developing WebGIS and the current mainstream ways to develop a WebGIS. The ArcIMS of ESRI is used to provide the map service. The architecture of the ArcIMS and publishing map by using it will be discussed in this article.(2) Using the Ajax to reduce the amount of data that has been transferred between the server and clients. Lower the pressure of the network system. Upgrade the stability of system. Compute some data in the clients' computer to lower the computing pressure of the server by using JavaScript in the clients' page.(3) Using Ajax JavaScript and HTML create a dynamic information display layer in this system. It can response the users' operation immediately. The users will feel like using the desktop application.(4) The security of this system is very important. So this system uses a very strict user authority checking and management method. The authorities of this system were classified in different grade to configure and manage. |
