The Three Gorges Reservoir areas have complex natural and geological conditions with frequent occurrence of flood and rainstorm, so the geological hazard of landslide develops in these areas. Jingquan landslide is an oversize soil landslide in the Three Gorges Reservoir areas. In view of the occurrence of possible failure problem under conditions of reservoir impoundment and rainstorm and also in the process of water level descending, this paper applies the FLAC3D analysis software to make a profound research on the stability of Jingquan landslide and its prevention and cure measures on the basis of the analysis of geological environment conditions and with the assistance of the analysis of deformation and failure characteristics and the analysis of impact factors which affect the stability of Jingquan landslide. The study indicates that the landslide is in the state of slow creep and the displacement concentrates on the middle and posterior edge of the landslide in the natural state. This paper considers that the deformation and its area will increase and the landslide will lose stability when the Three Gorges Reservoir impounded level reaches 175m and in rainstorm. The paper considers that the deformation and its area will decrease in the process of water level descending. The paper also brings forward the treatment programs which are composed of surface drainage, back-fill at the foot of landslide and anti-slide pile, then certifies the feasibility of the treatment programs by analyzing them. The results indicate that FLAC3D analysis software has very strong adaptability in the field of studying the displacement and its expansion of landslide. FLAC3D has vast application foreground.
