Sea ice is the major impact factor to the safety in oil and gas development under marine environment in Bohai Bay.Most offshore jacket platforms in Bohai Bay have not considered such ice-induced hazards in their design.Because they are all flexible structures,ice-induced vibration is critical to structure safety concern.Strong ice constraint-induced vibration has become a main threaten for safe operation on the platforms in winter,as well as to the health and living of platform crews. Therefore, the need of a safety monitoring system is urgent, not only for safely storage and transport of drilled oil and gas during the winter, but also good for service life of platform.Meanwhile,it can also provide notable assistance in design of new generation anti-ice platform in marginal ice zone field,as well as the practical fatigue database for understanding platform service life and maintaince. On the other hand, severe platform vibration can introduce damages to machines and equipments on platform, which is one of reasons for this study.Due to two newly built heavy compressors onto BZ34-1CEPA platform, their weight effect can be critical to the health of this flexible platform. To secure BZ34-1CEPA platform structure safety, this study mainly focuses on modal analysis based on data collected from monitoring system. The results show that the vibration of the compressor will not cause natural resonance vibration between the compressors and the platform.
