With the deep application of GIS in geotechnic engineering, the study of the GIS applying in the slope becomes one of the hot issues. These study mainly focused on the assessment for the fatalness of a certain zone and the stability of 2D slope. Besides, quality study is more than quantity study about the assessment for the stability of GIS slope. However, owing to the complexity, correctness and timeliness of actual slope engineering, it is necessary for GIS software system to be entailed with the function of 3D analysis for unit slope. Meanwhile,only if the stability factor is accurate, convenient and understandable, it is easy for people to control, assess and make decision on slope. Nowadays, the study on slope GIS system is weak, it is indispensable to make more deep quantity study on the stability of unit slope GIS.This paper aims to study and establish the analysis system based on the stability of GIS slope. It is as follows for the completed research work and main progress.①By researching the digitization of slope and the nature of slices method, combined with g principle and essence of raster modeling, DXM model, bring up the DXM model.Develop the generic DXM model for the unit slope. At the same time, from the point of view of set theory, the slope DXM modeling, calculation of expression and description of the collection, in order to establish a theoretical basis for DXM model.②Discussed the processes of the stability analysis of slope DXM, bring up the general steps to createDXM model. The DXM model based on discrete data points has been deeply resaerched, demonstrated that to create DXM with the DWG format is feasible。③By way of discussing the realization of DXM model, this paper proposes the application of Map Algebra in the DXM model indication and analysis , and the realization of DXM model with assembly theory in Map. Meanwhile, the paper completes stability analysis of DXM slope model combined with ArcGIS Map Algebra Language.④Determine the COM software technology as the development model of this system on the basis of the analysis of the three development model of kinds of GIS applied software. This paper chooses the most popular COM, namely ArcObjects as development platform in order to discuss the basic theory of COM and ArcObjects and deeply research the key technology of the development mode for ArcOjects+Visual Basic.⑤Taking one slope in Chongqing as an example, discuss the application of the ArcSlope, and the analysis result is approximate to the tradional method. The research of this paper manifest the superiority of the method of using DXM model to unit solpe.
