In recent years, with computer technology,CCD and CMOS image sensor technology as well as the spatial light modulator development, digital holography technology has been rapid development. Traditional holographic technology need to be exposed and developed to the hologram dry plate,and the process is fussy. But the holographic display based on the spatial light modulator is becoming the focus of concern because it has been achieved the real-time three-dimensional display which the traditional holographic technology is hard to achieve.In this paper, we have carried out experimental study in detail at the recording and processing of the digital holography, especially the real-time three-dimensional holographic display based on the spatial light modulator. Using the plane reference light and 532nm laser in this paper,We achieved real-time recording and processing of coaxial digital hologram by setting up a digital holographic recording system with the CMOS image sensor. We have designed the hardware-driver circuit of the liquid crystal spatial light modulator which contained the CPLD as the core control chip in this paper,andwe used the Verilog Hardware Description Language to carry out the corresponding software development with Quartus II as the software platform. Further we have set up a digital holographic three-dimensional display system with the liquid crystal spatial light modulator and achieved the small objects in real-time three-dimensional display. An experimental study of this paper is further evidence of the use of CMOS image sensor technology and liquid crystal spatial light modulator technology in the digital holography convenience, real-time is far superior to the traditional areas such as holograms on the hologram dry plate technology, with digital holography technology development, it will be more and more widely.
