Rock and soil mass deformation and stability (destruction) has always been concerned, and especially under the actions of a variety of complicated geological conditions coupling, the rock and soil mass deformation not only has its inherent regularity, but the randomness and uncertainty. Intending to take foundation settlement and deformation as an example, basing on engineering geological environment conditions of study area and loess foundation treatment and ground test results along Zhengzhou-Xi'an passenger line, and with the system science guiding, data mining technology and a variety of forecasting methods were used to fit settlement and deformation course and forecasting the final settlement. Then considering time evolution and spatial pattern, the evolution mechanism of collapsible loess composite foundation and dynamic consolidation foundation settlement and deformation were discussed to evaluate the current stable state and forecast stable time in future.Using experimental results and monitoring information, three foundation treatment methods of Zhengzhou-Xi'an passenger line collapsible loess foundation studies were taken as followings: (1) Considering engineering geological environment along Zhengzhou-Xi'an passenger line and analyzing the test section conditions, hydro-geological conditions, lithology, and physical and mechanical properties were mainly studied. (2) Based on the foundation settlement monitoring data, analyzing the deformation characteristics of the settlement, using data mining techniques, the dynamic evolution information of internal foundation structure contained in the process of the foundation settlement will be revealed, finding the method which is consistent with engineering practice and the modeling and prediction for the entire settlement process.(3)Taking system science as a guide, the tracking and monitoring of deformation of the foundation top and deep area a basis, combined with the characteristics of the geological structure and the fitting forecasts of data mining technology, the space-time deformation characteristics and dynamic evolution mechanism of the internal structure of the foundation were discussed, the prediction of foundation settlement was made in different time and area, providing basis support for improving and deepening the deformation control technology and design theory. (4) Combining the indoor and outdoor experiment results, the specificity of the settlement evolution mechanism for three foundation treatment methods was sdudied. (5) Based on understanding for the spatial and temporal evolution mechanisms of the foundation settlement, combining with the forecast results, the steady state and determined to meet the standards of settlement time.Through the study on the settlement forecasting and the dynamic evolution mechanism of the composite foundation in the collapsible loess, based on the monitoring data, there is a reasonable selection of the settlement forecasting method and a discussion for the dynamic evolution mechanism, then a evaluation on the status of the foundation, which will provide a guidance for the progress of the projects and design.
