The new turn of physics curriculum reforms from the idea, the content to the implementation, all has changes. Teachers are the key points to achieve the goal which physics curriculum reforms. Under the theory of new curriculum, the traditional physics teacher's ability can not meet the need of times changing, new curriculum requires the physics teachers to form a new ability structure, develop new ability content, and these issues are the starting point of this paper.The purpose of this paper is studying how to promote the changes of physics teacher's ability in high schools under the theory of new curriculum. Teacher's ability is not only the key factor that influences the quality and the effect of teaching, but also the key point of researching teacher's specialization. Especially in the times of continual execution of new curriculum, the studies related to the teacher's ability should be given new significance.This paper mainly adopts many methods to research, including consulting somedocuments, making questionnaire survey and interviewing methods. First,the author have sorted out and analyzed the relevant theories about teacher's ability , teaching of physics.On the theoretical foundation studied physics education , teacher's ability ,etc. in advance, combine the course idea of new physics, points out what kinds of new ability should the teachers have in the process of carrying out the new curriculum, for instance, the ability of helping the students to study, researching the teaching, applying many sorts of teaching mediums, self-examination about teaching and changing the concept of teaching.Second ,the paper makes a"A Questionnaire of Physics Teacher's Ability in High School",and at the basic of investigating the current ability of some on-the-job teachers, explore and form and develop the route of teacher's ability of physics.it proposes that the government, teacher's teaching institute, schools and teachers should cooperate with one another and work hard systematically in order to promote the changes of teacher's ability, that means the strong support from education department of government is the essential condition of the changes of teacher's ability, the quality of teachers training institute is the basic guarantee of improving the teacher's ability, the school training is the basic platform of promoting the changes of teacher's ability, enforcing the self-examination about teaching and building up the concept of life-long learning is the most effective method to change the teacher's ability. The author get on normal colleges and schools student of work position and get on teacher of work position helpful already soon, improve the enlightenment to some extent of teacher's ability of physics to the educational administrator.Finally, the writer introspects the limitations of this paper, and looks forwards to the further research.
