This article has six chapters. In the first chapter, introducing main contents and significance of subject research, as well as relative research home and abroad. In Chapter 2, lighting summary, explanation formation condition of lighting, charging mechanism of thunderstorm cloud, charge Structure of thunderstorm cloud, factors effect on directivity of lighting and lighting harm. In Chapter 3, introduction of data sources, relative lighting location technology and application of lighting data in weather forecast. In Chapter 4, introduction of lighting publishing system of Anhui, including main function, relative technology and software. In Chapter 5, research on lighting zonal distribution by model building of lighting data, introducing representative elementary area. In the last chapter, both innovation and remain problems of this paper are pointed out.Lighting echo data, detected by lighting location system of Anhui meteorological administration, is set as the research subject. On the basis of WebGIS technique in ArcIMS platform, lighting information publishing system can be established in combination lighting echo data with basic geographic information data, We can use the system to query lighting information according to the time, specified location and administrative region. Meanwhile the system can also display real lighting and forecast.Representative Elementary Area is introduced to replace grid-based lighting density. In consideration of lighting zonal distribution, elliptic field is taken as a representativ elementary area depending on least square method, varimax rotation and coordinate transformation. Lighting density of elliptic field is calculated. Compared lighting density in elliptic field with the other two displaying ways of grid-based lighting density and lighting density of circular region respectively, lighting density graph got in this way, which is handled throught coordinate transformation and elliptic field, embodys its zonal distribution feature.
