Along with the development of remote sensing technology, remote sensing image acquisition method and ability has improved tremendously, different kinds of remote sensing image is impossible to satisfy all use. Multi-source remote sensing image fusion technology of image information acquisition and is an important content of the processing technology, is to expand the scope of use of remote sensing image data, an effective way to study, the remote sensing is becoming an important research direction. Based on the comprehensive analysis and summary to the existing literature and, on the basis of research achievements in the remote sensing geology in fault zone as an example, the method for extracting the following several aspects:1, introduces the purpose and the role of remote sensing information and technology development and the purpose and the development direction in the future.2, introduces the necessity of multi-source data fusion, summarized the concept of information fusion, hierarchy, and the structure model, the fusion of the characteristics and method of hierarchy.3, In march, the pixel level fusion for mainly introduces the concept of fusion method and principle.4, from the pixel level fusion led the research present as a fusion algorithm of wavelet transform, the main component based on wavelet transform and based on the IHS wavelet transform, for example, an image fusion of conversion.5, introduces the influence of various common quality evaluation index, for example with experimental data fusion to the quality evaluation, choose the most suitable test area of fusion algorithm.6 and fusion result concludes that the wavelet fusion in the practicability and effectiveness riparian zone.7 and summarize the current literature material and research results of present situation and the development of data fusion is insufficient were analyzed and summarized.
