Induced polarization method is a kind of electrical method. which is based on the difference of different ores and rocks to explore the underground instance by observe and research the domino effect of the earth IP. This method is widely used in our country and is in good efficiency. It can be used in the mineral prospecting of metal or nonmetal solid; it can be used to find ground water, oil gas and geothermal field. IP sounding data processing and interpretation has been the development of technology. At present, the analysis and interpretation of IP sounding data can be done in two ways: the one is used conventional multi-parameter analysis of IP, which result is unilateralism for not taking into account the change of electrical properties of the lateral. The other is used in 2-D inversion of high-density resistivity method by inserting many data into the IP sounding data in term of the high-density resistivity array. Nevertheless, Use these methods to the interpretation of sounding data have some limitations.Vertical electrical sounding survey is an important method to find the aquifer structure hidden in DC exploration. With the long-term research of geophysical workers, the method has been gradually developed from the traditional resistivity method, which only measures the apparent resistivity, to the induced polarization sounding method, which can measure and calculate many IP parameters meanwhile such as apparent resistivity and apparent polarization. By using the characteristics of each parameters, coordinate with each other and the comprehensive analysis, to some extent to improve the interpretation of abnormal inference accuracy.When the measured data processing and interpretation,It becomes an extremely important task to accurately identify and distinguish IP anomaly, so the main problem is to judge the geologic burial depth, size and spatial distribution patterns. Only in this way can we realize the digital explanation of the differences and improve the efficiency of the well drilling. The contents of the IP sounding anomaly processing and extraction are studied in the paper. Focus on how to highlight and strengthen the weak anomalies of useful information,Achieve accurate positioning for the purpose of anomaly source. Based on existing researched results at home and abroad, the derived index model was constructed for traditional IP sounding characteristics. By relevant theoretical models and experimental verification of the processing shows that index derivatives processing technology is available and feasible. Digitization is realized in IP data processing,The interpretation of abnormal results more intuitive. Through concrete examples,by using conventional multi-parameter analysis of IP, two-dimensional high-density inversion and derivative Index calculated done a comparative study shows that, method of derivative index model calculating reduce the error of man-made explanation,highlight and strengthen the weak anomalies,achieved the exact and intuitive location of anomaly source during abnormal explanation.
