In our country, the majority pay zones of the oilfields are continental deposits with serious heterogeneity and nearly 90% oilfields have assumed water-flooding development regime at the early development stage. Therefore, it is very important to study the new method of fine numerical simulation for the water-flooding oilfield. The underlying idea of the streamline technique is to decouple the 3D problem into a series of 1D problems along streamlines. Fluids are moved along the natural streamline grid. Additionally, increased accuracy is achieved by maintaining the sharp flood fronts from the displacement processes and reducing grid orientation effects. Therefore, the streamline numerical simulation method has important significance for the efficient development of oil and gas field. This paper begins with the analysis of the principle of streamline methods, tracing streamlines and updating streamlines. Then, on the basis of black oil model, the two phase oil/water streamline model with gravity and capillarity effects is established and solved numerically. Comparison with the developed commercial finite difference simulator ECLIPSE indicates that the streamline simulator is reasonable and accurate. On the basis of this software, the paper establishes theory of reservoir flow field, analyzes performance and static factors that affect reservoir flow field distribution, chooses water crossing multiple, flow velocity and water cut as dynamic factors, chooses the type of sedimentary facies, in which parts, sand body thickness and permeability as static factors, adopt analytical hierarchy process and fuzzy mathematics to get a composite appraisement target of flow field intensity. Finally , through living data in Tangjiahe Oilfield, research on the relation between predominant flow field and residual oil distribution from horizontal, projects are made for residual oil production.
