Satellite Navigation System is the system that uses satellites to navigate and position. It is becoming increasingly concerned for its huge role and irreplaceable position in the military and civilian field, and is developing rapidly. At present, the most mature Satellite Navigation System is GPS (Global Positioning System) in America. China is also developing its own system– BD Satellite Navigation System.Satellite navigation receiver, which faces users directly, is the receiving end of Satellite Navigation System. It measures the quantities such as the distance between satellite and user, and the Doppler Frequency Shift by receiving the satellite signal, and calculates users'position and velocity based on those of satellite which are determined with the navigation data.This paper begins with the principle of satellite navigation and positioning, introduces the principle and total structure of the satellite navigation receiver, and studies the role and task of the positioning and calculation module in the receiver. It mainly discusses the design idea and realization method with the satellite orbit knowledge and navigation data.The positioning and calculation module is the top module of the satellite navigation receiver. Its task is to calculate the position and velocity of user with the pseudorange and Doppler frequency shift data measured by the baseband module and the navigation data extracted by the data processing module. In the whole positioning and calculation module, the arithmetic is the most important. A good arithmetic can improve the positioning precision and efficiency. This paper researches the solution of the positioning equations, the method to determine the position and velocity of satellite with the satellite orbit knowledge and navigation data, and the ways to reduce various kinds of positioning error in detail. In each kind of arithmetic, we introduce the principle and derive the formulas.In the end, we introduce the realization platform and the developing environment of the positioning and calculation module, and describe the realization process.In the test of the whole receiver, the positioning and calculation module can realize the user position and velocity calculation with the previously known data. The whole module functions well, and meets the design requirements.
