Magmatic Ni-Cu sulfide deposit is a type of deposits with great economic and scientific significance. Now, the theory of "little intrusion forming large deposit" has become the main direction of scientific research and prospecting in Such deposits. From the aspects of geological background, intrusions and deposits geological features, and mineralization mechanism, This paper systematic analyses and compares Kalatongke and Baimazhai, the two typical small intrusions copper-nickel sulfide deposits, summarizes their similarities and differences, also to find the genesis for these, discusses the regularity of formation and distribution for such deposits, and guide their exploration. On the basis of systematic analysis and comparative research on Kalatongke and Baimazhai sulfide deposits in geology and geochemistry, some conclusions can be drawn as follow:(1) Systematically comparing the Kalatongke and Baimazhai deposits, concluding their regularities in time, space and material composition, and providing a certain degree of foundation for further studying the two small rock deposits.(2) Systematically determining, analyzing and clearing up geochemical data of Kalatongke and Baimazhai copper-nickel deposits. Some studies, such as PGE of Kalatongke deposits, is the first in China. Providing quantitative analysis to study the origin of Kalatongke deposits.(3) Through geological characteristics, pointing out Kalatongke and Baimazhai intrusions are formed by the magma pulse-penetrating to terminal magma chamber, other than open magma channel. The difference between them mainly is that Kalatongke intrusions is formed by once emplacement, and Baimazhai intrusion is formed by repeatedly emplacement.(4) Proposing the main reason for the formation of both Kalatongke and Baimazhai deposits is crustal contamination, adding of silicon leaded to the sulfur solubility of magma decreases, resulting sulfide-enriched ore pulp.
