In recent years, the geophysical prospecting develops at very fast speed in the technology and the data processing. With the computer's software and hardware rapidly developing, the system of geophysical data processing is on the way to visualization, which having friendly windows' interface and the strongly interactive mode. But the original arithmetic mostly is programmed by the Fortran and runs in the DOS environment. The mixed languages have provided a technique for visualization. But it is used by the programmer, who is trained as specialized computer technical personnel. The technical personnel who understands a high-level programming language is difficult to complete for the mixed programming. Appearance of Visual Fortran compiler solved the above problem. However the existed major programs, which are coded on the visualization by Visual Fortran, are unable to cast off shadow of the DOS, and are unable to realize the complete function of Windows programming. So this way is not suitable to develop the large special commercial software, and does not have the full excavation for Visual Fortran to develop visualization.Thus, the paper researches visualization technique with the example of data processing and conversion in potential field on arbitrary surface. And the author proves which realized the Windows programming complete function with Visual Fortran is completely feasible. And the paper provides a set of method of developing visualization with the Fortran. The software, which has been developed about data processing and conversion in potential field on arbitrary surface, has the good alternating surface and maximum limit uses the application resources which are already existed. Through executing the actual data as testing, the software proves which visualization system dealing with the data of potential field on arbitrary surface is effective and practical and has also confirmed feasibility and the application value of visualization developing with Visual Fortran.
