2014 aluminum alloy is one kind of the most widely used astronautics material. This paper mainly used experimental method to conduct the research on spall property of 2014 Al-alloy, focusing on the influence of different heat-treatments on the spall strength of material, hoped that provide the beneficial instruction to the material fabrication technology and the use process. The paper has measured the spall strength of material, examined the recovered experimental samples by microscope, and analyzed the spallation damage evolutionary process, carried on a preliminary discussion on the influencing factors on the spallation of aluminum alloy material combined with the theory of heat treatment. Through the above work, the main achievement which this article obtains includes:1. The paper has designed the science reasonable device of the spallation experiment; carried on the numerical simulation confirmation to the experimental design, analyzed the reason of second reloading.2. Carried on the spallation experiments to the different heat treatments 2014 aluminum alloy samples. The result showed that under four kind of heat treated conditions the spall strength compared to the size: B>C>A~D. Obviously under these four treatments, the spall strength of B heat treatment sample is highest, the spall strength of A and the D sample is lowest.3. Analyzed the spallation development model in the test specimen, compared the ability to prevent crack propagation; Through the experiment discovered that in material crack initiation characteristic with expansion characteristic not completely consistent, the D heat treatment test specimen crack is most difficult to expand.4. Carried on the metallographic analysis to four kinds of heat treatments 2014 aluminum alloy specimens. The B and C heat treatments specimen had the recrystallization, the crystal grains are smaller; but the A and the D crystal grains are larger.5. Analyzed the influencing factor caused the aluminum alloy material spallation difference from the perspective of both composition and heat treatment: The alloying element melts forms the solid solution after the parent metal, the spall strength of alloy will have a enhancement; The ingredient causes the aluminum alloy to strengthen differently, thus the spall strength is different; In the heat treatment process, the solution temperature, the quenching transfer time, and the artificial aging and so on have the very tremendous influence to the material performance.
