With the rapid development of the highway construction, it must be clear of the distribution range, buried depth, developmental condition and so on of the karst caves, if the highway pass through the karst development area. Else, they'll become the geological hidden collapse trouble of the bridge, tunnel and roadbed. Inversion study is done to the Rayleigh dispersion curves of the highway karst cave model in this paper, and the dispersion curves' characteristics are also analyzed and interpreted; the characteristics of the seismic imaging time profile and the high- density resistivity in the karst cave model and surrounding medium are studied; the karst caves exploration's geophysical methods, various working parameters' selection and the data processing and interpretation methods are studied in this paper.Based on the above, the base-order and high-order surface wave's joint interpretations of the karst cave model Rayleigh dispersion curves are finished, which greatly improve the Rayleigh exploration precision and the dispersion curves' interpretation precision; the karst cave exploration geophysical method theory and the best parameter selection are put forward under the specific geological condition; the geological exploration is done to the highway karst caves, and drilling to confirmation. It is summarized of the geophysical original data collection, working parameters' selection and data processing interpretation.After comprehensive geophysical interpretation and drilling confirmation, it is obtained that using comprehensive geophysical methods to the highway karst cave exploration overcomes multiplicity of solutions by single geophysical method, and the exploration precision is high, the error small. It is suggested that the high-density resistivity method with high exploration efficiency should be done before the highway karst cave exploration. The abnormal part should be explored combined with other two methods, in some case, combined with drilling confirmation to make sure the karst caves developmental conditions.
