The mineralization factors on the exploration drift are various and hard to determined, in order to find orebody, estimate the reserves and explore more effectively and accurately, we want to study it using quantitative method, which is more rational and avoids the judgment made depending on the experiences only. We analyze the gold grade values of several exploration lines in Beiya gold ore deposit by fractal methods including the Higuchi analysis, detrended fluctuation analysis(DFA) method, multifractal formalisms and multifractal detrended fluctuation analysis method. Especially, applying multifractal detrended fluctuation analysis(MFDFA) method in characterizing the mineralization factors is the first time. According to the results obtained via the traditional geological methods, the MFDFA method is a valid, effective and accurate way to determine the mineralization factors and it is a good indicator for identifying mineralization zone.Taking Beiya gold ore deposit in Yunnan province, China as an example, using the fractal methods, grades of Au element of different drifts are discussed. The result shows that the grade series of Au element in this area characterized by strong multifractality and long-range correlation. If q is positive, h(q) describes the scaling behavior of the segments with large fluctuations, and so major mineralization factors dominate, and vice versa. These results provide great theoretical guidance in identifying the mineralization intensity and determining the target mineralization zone.
