With the developing of perpendicular recording media, GMR magnetic head and thin film wireless inductor cores, high cut-off frequency is required for the soft magnetic films. It's important for fabrication of soft magnetic thin films to adjust in-plane uniaxial anisotropy (IPUA) of films, because saturation magnetization of magnetic films can not be increased. In this article, the methods of adjustment of IPUA have been study via OOMMF (micromagnetic simulation) and radio frequency sputtering (experiment). The main contents are as follows:1, The oblique sputtering can be used to study adjustment of IPUA of CoNb soft magnetic films via adjusting oblique angle and Ar flux. The results of experiments show that:the values of IPUA and the soft magnetic property of CoNb films decrease with the increasing of Ar flux; the values of IPUA increase with increasing of oblique angle, but the direction of IPUA is not change.2, the magnitude of IPUA and coercive force of CoNb soft magnetic films can be effectively adjusted via adjusting Nb content. The results of experiments show that:the coercive force of CoNb films decrease with the increasing of Nb content, but the magnitude of IPUA has a maximum when Nb content is specific value. It was succeeded to prepare the CoNb film with high Hk of 730 Oe.3, Two-phase stripelike magnetic hybrid structure model have been studied via OOMMF. It has been found that the investigated systems show IPUA induced by the magnetic dipole interaction of the magnetic moments in different stripes. The magnitude of in-plane uniaxial anisotropy is proportional to film thickness, reciprocal of stripe width and the square of difference between two-phase saturation magnetization.
