Geomorphological research is an important research area in geography, landscape elements is essential to human living environment an important part, so in the current landscape of sustainable development and Earth science research plays a very important role in national resources, Environment Strategy and other policy-making occupy an irreplaceable position. With the 3S technology, on the geomorphology of the study provides new means and methods. In particular, the landscape of DEM-based geomorphology has become a research hotspot [1].This section of Luan River Basin of Inner Mongolia as the study area, historical topography map, a topographic map 1:5 million, and 2000 ETM + images (7,4,2 band combination) based on the data source; using Topographic Map DEM; and Based on DEM of the study area topography analysis. The results are as follows:1.Using DEM and GIS spatial analysis function, according to the principle of extraction of topographic factors on the DEM data extraction of different topography. Obtained in the study area above sea level elevation, topography amplitude map, three-dimensional map, contour, gradient and thematic maps, thematic maps of slope, mountain shadows, surface cutting degree plan.2. The light of the historical landscape type maps and various written materials as well as the 2007 TM image, according to the study area of remote sensing image interpretation signs and causes of the combination of form and principles of classification, based on the DEM of the study area in 2000, ETM images of the landscape type of interpretation of landscape type maps obtained.3. General characteristics of topography derived: (1) the basic landscape types from the view, the plain area of the most widely distributed, the total area of 60.38%; platform of the total area of 26.21%; hills of the total area of 13.4%; minimum distribution is small rolling mountains of the total area of 0.01 percent. Analysis of different topographic features that: (1) From the height distribution, the elevation is 1300-1400m of the most widely distributed of the total area of 58.8%; elevation for the 1400 -1500m of the total area of 21%; elevation to 1500-1600m of the total area of 10.1%; elevation is 1700-1800m of the total area of 0.13%. (2) according to the slope distribution, the distribution area is the largest gradient of 0-3°, and the total area of 45.54%; gradient of 3-7°of the total area of 17.8%; gradient of 7-15°of 16.23% of total area; gradient of 0°of the total area of 15.5%; gradient of 15-25°of the total area of 4.78%; gradient of 25-35°and 35-90°in the distribution area of at least. (3) from the slope distribution, the distribution area of the east slope of the total area of 20.49%; distribution area of at least that aspect to the north, the total area of 5.74%.
