With the rapid development of the exploration technology about the near-Earth space environment,mass of space environment data were accumulated with the strong temporal ,spatial , true three dimensional characteristics and multidimensional attribute . Yet the current file-based data storage methods cannot efficiently solve the spatio-temporal data storage problem, cannot effectively integrate and fully use the data resources and restrict multi-physics coupling assimilation. It is a difficulty to carry out data analysis and the depth of space-time mining for the near-Earth space environment data.This paper researched and explored the theoretical modeling and technology about the spatio-temporal data storage, manage, retrieval based on geographic information system (GIS) space-time modeling theories after learned the outcome of temporal database management technology.The main results were as follows:1,Carried out a research and reviewed about current research status of temporal data modeling methods and key technology of space-time database.2,Constructed a united theoretical framework of temporal and spatial expression on the basis of analysis the characteristics of near-Earth space environment which provided a theoretical foundation for the next research.3,Proposed an improved method for multi-base states with amendments on spatio-temporal data mode which was suited to the space exploration data, designed the exploration data management system and analyze the efficiency. The experiment showed that the model was effective and consistent with the characteristics of space environment exploration data .4,Designed and developed a spatial database about the near-Earth space environment exploration data based on improved multi-base state with amendments temporal models and the ArcSDE spatial database engine technology+Oracle10g which could store, manage and retrieve the near-Earth space environment data. It was a useful exploration for the spatial database technology in data management applications of space exploration .5,Some functions about spatio-temporal data were implemented based on component GIS technology of ArcGIS Engine, such as query, analysis rendering etc which provided a new way to analysis the spatio-temporal data.6,Magnetic field data were managed and gained demonstration application based on temporal data management system and the feasibility of the system was proved.
