Presently, most oil fields have stepped in high water-cutter development. Although sorts of development programs have been used, it is difficult to improve oil and gas recovery and to look for the remaining oil. Adopting emulation technique to research on remaining oil and microscopic pore structure, the distributing rules of remaining oil can be revealed.Digital image analytical method was applied to make a microscopic pore structure research on rock casting thin sections and calculate related parameters of pore structure. Besides, based on rock casting thin section, united with emulation technique, microscopic percolation mechanism and related computer technique, a micro-simulation model of remaining oil was established to do oil remaining emulation research which study on microscopic pore structure and oil remaining distributing rules. Take Wen 33 block of Wennan Oilfield for example, researching rock casting thin section through threshold segmentation method, the pore and non-porous section can be identified exactly. The extracted images have the features of color edge highlight and the pore information is definitely. Accurate pore structure parameter is obtained according to watershed algorithm and morphology algorithm. The result illustrate that the calculation is identical with which we got from traditional way.Emulation accuracy is increased by the improvement and perfection of micro-simulation of remaining oil program. Take two rock specimen of infra-second member of Shahejie formation of Wen 33 block for example, the study of water flooding emulation intuitively demonstrated the porous flow process of water and oil in micro-pore throat network and revealed distributing and evolution rules of micro-oil remaining. The simulation result is almost identical with the micro water displacing oil physical simulation. Therefore, the result of micro-simulation of remaining oil is reliable and effective.
