The paint stripper should be required to have a high depainting speed andreached the airworthiness standards validation before it used on the aeroplane.Theimport painting stripper have great advatages in their performance.In this paper,thenew paint stripper for the aeroplane are invented,and the mechanism of solventswelling polymer network is discussed.The imported paint stripper was analysised by organic analysis method and thedepainting capability of varied solvents were tested by the single factor and mixedfactor ananlysis for the paint stripper. Finally, the methylene chloride and benzylalcohol were used as the main solvents of the self-made paint strippers,and the bestratio of methylene chloride and benzyl alcohol was 3:1.The self-made paint strippercould remove the coating using in aeroplane such as TB06-9+ TS96-71,and theprocess can be completed within 90min.When put an acidic promoting agent into theself-made paint stripper,the process of removed coatings become faster and somecorrosion resistant coatings such as BMS10-79 and S06-1010H could be removedeasily. Environmental factors such as temperature and base material was verified byorthogonal test.The results showed that the higher the temperature,the faster coatingremoved,and the coating on the aluminum was removed easilythan that on the iron.By the IR and the swelling test ,the experiment explained the mechanism thatpolymer network swelled faster in solvent mixture. The experiment found that thesolvent with active group such as–OH and–NH3 could made the polymer chainssolvation,and the intermolecular force would be reduced.It was beneficial to thepenetration of methylene chloride into polymer network,which made it swelled faster.MC was used as the thickening agent in the self-made painting stripper.It foundout that the state of MC in hot water solution would change with temperaturereduction,and the result proved that it was favorable for the mixture and preparationof the MC and solvent when the MC formed mushyconglomeration at 60~67℃.The higher amount of MC was used,the better its water retention property was.Theviscosity of the paint stripper would increased with the amount of MC and theextension of storage.The experientment used tween-80 and span-80 as emulsifier toprepare wax emulsion.When the tween-80 and span-80 at the ratio 2:8 and the volumeof emulsifiers was 15% of water volume,the emulsion can be formed by the mixtureof wax and water.The performance of self-made painting stripper were texted.The results showedthat the neutral painting stripper was propitious to all the base material that used in theexperiment,and the effect was same as the imported paint stripper named A.Aidicpaint removers applies to aluminum alloy and titanium alloy,and it could remove allthe coating that used in the experiment.Both of the neutral paint stripper and the acidicwouldn't destroy the anodized coating.It could spraynew paint after cleaned the surface ofthe base material,and the bonding force of coating would not be changed.
