Ammonia is one of the eight kinds of odor pollutants stipulated by Chinese state environmental protection ministry. Ammonia-Contaminated not only threatens human health, and will cause serious harm to the ecological environment. biofiltration is an effective treatment methods for odor pollutants. But the choosing of packing was the key factor, which affected purification. The composting and corn cob were selected as the biofiltration packing in the study. First, we inoculated the enrichment cultured deodorizing bacteria on packing surface to make membrane-hanging. Then we contrasted the purification effect for ammonia of the two kinds of fillers. Through the research on factors of the inlet concentration, inlet flowrate, filling height, import volume loading and removal of load volume and other factors, we got the appropriate technology conditions and of the biological filter with corn cob as filler for the ammonia purification. The main results were as follows:(1)The saturation adsorption capacity of Plastic foam was 6.4 g-NH3·m-3-packing. perlite was 76.8 g-NH3·m-3-packing. corn-cob was 298.2 g-NH3·m-3-packing. the purification efficiency of natural was much better than that of perlite and plastic. Compulsory bio-membrane treatment is an effective method for biofiltration. The biomass in the reactor of corn-cob was large when the system was stable, The average population number was found to be 4×108 CFU·g-1 for bacteria,2.1×106 CFU·g-1 for fungi and 1.7×105 CFU·g-1 for actinomycetes.(2)The optimum moisture content of corn cob packing was 40%. the optimum inlet concentration was 63-271 mg-m"3. if the mass concentration was less than 271.2 mg·m-3.the best intake flowrate was 0.8 m3·h-1.if the mass concentration was more than 271.2 mg-m"3.the best intake flowrate was 0.3 m3·h-1.When the mass concentration was lower than 121.1 mg·m-3, the largest contribution rate to the removal efficiency of under part was 90.5%, the middle part was 53.7%, the upper part was 16.8%. volume removal loading of biofilters are increased along with the volume loadings, the higher of entry volume loading the farer of 100% removal line.in the packed column of composting. the Optimal inlet concentration was 73-630 mg·m-3. if the mass concentration was less than 73 mg·m-3, the best intake flowrate was 0.3 m3·h-1. if the mass concentration was more than 271.2 mg·m-3. the best intake flowrate was 0.8 m3/h.the Lower packing played major role on ammonia purification. the largest contribution rate to the removal efficiency of under part was 94.1%, the middle part was 13.5%, the upper part was 6.7%. the volume loadings and the entry volume loading was silimar. during the whole experiment it changed little. the volume loadings has linear relationship with the entry volume loading.(3)Two series of biological filtration deodorization effect is good, compost played a key role within the system, the average removal rate was 93%, corn cob packing played an enhanced treatment effect, the removal efficiency were more than 97% during the operation.
