With the development of industry, environment pollution becomes more and more serious increasingly. Adsorption materials play an important role in environmental pollution treatment. Therefore, it is great theoretical significance, and also practical application value to develop new high-performance adsorption materials.β-cyclodextrin polymer (β-CDP) as a kind of adsorption materials, attracted much attention and obtained much development in recent years. Developing newβ-CDP and making up for existing material byβ-CDP will achieve greater economic and social benefits.β-CDP crosslinked by citric acid have not only inclusion property ofβ-CD, but also have ion exchange property of carboxyl. However, theβ-CDP crosslinked by citric acid have some obvious drawbacks, such as low yield and high swelling ratio. In order to overcome these defects, aβ-cyclodextrin polymer(C-β-CDP) was synthesized with citric acid as crosslinking agent, water-soluble starch as additive and NaH2PO4 as catalyst. Swelling ratio, total acidic groups and FT-IR spectra of the polymer were determined. The effects of starch on the properties of the polymer were studied. The results of the tests indicated that the introduction of starch may affect the properties of the polymer obviously. And the test result of optimized sample shows that thisβ-cyclodextrin polymer is good in thermal stability. To test the adsorption effect of C-β-CDP, theβ-cyclodextrin polymer crosslinked by epichlorohydrin (E-β-CDP) was synthesized. And the adsorption of two kinds of P-CDP to aniline, basic fuchsine and methylene blue was determined. The results of the tests indicated that the new polymer has a much larger adsorption capacity than the polymer crosslinked by epichlorohydrin.Fiber is a type of excellent carrier, which has the advantage of large specific surface, high mechanical strength and steady chemical propert.β-cyclodextrin was immobilized to the surface of PET and PAN fiber by crosslinking with citric acid. The new fibers retained high strength, physical and chemical stability. The adsorption tests indicated that the new fibers possessed the ability of adsorption to basic fuchsine.
