In the process of thermal power plant operation, especially in new power plant operation, the condensate system would contain trace turbine oil which may be caused by improper operation or imprecision of steam turbine gland system. Resin will be contaminated by the trace oil in condensate, and its pyrolysis products could cause the corrosion of thermal equipment, which would lead to huge economic losses. Therefore, it has very important academic and practical value to research on removal the trace oil in condensate.Photocatalytic degradation is a very popular method to deal with refractory compounds, which can also be used to remove trace oil in condensate in this text. Determination of the trace turbine oil by TOC is one of the main innovation in the paper. TOC can directly determine the carbon content of oil-water emulsion, which has broken the traditional determination methods that require extraction, tedious to operate and other shortcomings. TOC is a new method for determining trace oil, and it is very rapid and accurate.Take hollow glass pearls and polyurethane foam as carriers, the nano-TiO2 laden on hollow glass pearls and polyurethane foam photocatalysts were prepared respectively by sol-gel and situ polymerize -tion method. The prepared nano-TiO2 catalysts were characterized by Thermo-gravimetric analysis (TG-DSC), X-ray diffraction (XRD), Transmission electron microscope (TEM) and Scanning electron microscopy (SEM) methods, which confirming that has synthesized nano- TiO2 composite photocatalysts. Two laden nano-TiO2 photocatalysts were used to degrade trace turbine oil, and the effects of preparation and reaction conditions on the photodegradation rate were investigated by single variable method, the experimental results show that trace oil degradation rate could exceed 90% in 12h by TiO2/glass pearls when the calcining temperature is 500℃, the times of laden is twice, pH of the solution is 10, the reaction temperature is 35℃, catalysts dosage is 6g/L, and the trace oil degradation rate could exceed 90% in 8h by TiO2/foam when the particles size of TiO2 is 8nm, the reaction temperature is 35℃, pH of the solution are between 910, catalysts dosage is 7.5g/L. Two kinds of photocatalysts did not loss in the photocatalytic reaction, while they can be recovered easily and reused more than three times. Therefore, the photocatalysts can be used to remove trace oil condensate.Using Langmuir-Hinshelwood kinetic model to fitting a straight line based on photocatalytic degradation data, it has good linear relation. It has important guiding significance in applications on photocatalytic degradation of turbine oil.
