Expanded Programme Of Steam Reforming Of Hydrocarbon To Hydrogen

This treatise studies the plant of steam methane reform to produce hydrogen of Shanghai Hualin Industrial Gases Co. Ltd for the Diphenylmethane Diisocyanate unit in the Bayer Integrate Site Shanghai. Linde Group patent technology was used in this plan. Shanghai Hualin Industrial Gases Co., Ltd has built up a plant which separate the Syngas into Hydrogen and CO, this new plant is the expansion unit of the exist plant. This new plant can produce hydrogen 24300Nm3/h and carbon monoxide 7400 Nm3/h. This new plant includes two units. One unit is Steam Methane Reform to produce hydrogen and the other unit is Syngas Separation Unit for producing hydrogen and carbon monoxide. The raw material of SMR unit are Liquified Petroleum Gas or Natural Gas, the two kinds of raw materials mixing with steam reform to hydrogen in the reform tubes filled with catalyst. The Syngas Separation Unit will make up the shortage hydrogen product when the SMR cannot satistfy the customer's demands. The SGSU take the syngas as the raw material. The syngas is separated into raw hydrogen and carbon monoxide in the cold box. The raw hydrogen is purified to specification product by the Pressure Swing Adsorber.SMR unit can produce hydrogen 18800 Nm3/h. This unit includes seven sections:raw material pre-treatment section; steam reform and overheat reuse; high temperature shift; pressure swing adsorber; steam and condensate system; fuel gas system and process sewage system.The SGSU can produce hydrogen 5500 Nm3/h and carbon monoxide 6510 Nm3/h and liquid carbon monoxide 500 Nm3/h. The unit includes three sections which are called raw material pre-treatment and cryogenic separation and pressure swing adsorber.
