Acrylate is generally synthesized by the way that propene is oxidized to acrylic acid, which is then converted to acrylate by esterification. The production cost of this way has increased a lot because the price of propene being made from petroleum has increased a lot in recent years. As it is known, the resourses of coal and natural gas are abundant in China. The way that acrylate is synthesized by carbonylation of acetylene is an alternative route, because coal chemical is booming and the production of acetylene from natural gas has gained a great development. So the synthesis of methyl acrylate by carbonylation of acetylene is studied in this paper. Catalysts, reaction temperature, reactor, reaction pressure, rotating speed and reaction time are researched in the experiment in order to obtain the better reaction conditions. It shows that:nickel bromide is the main catalyst; CW-1 and HY-2 are cocatalysts; methanol is directly used as solvent; the amount of main catalyst is lwt%; designed agitating valve is adopted; rotating speed is about 1200r/min; and under the pressure of 5.5MPa and the temperature of 185℃, the yield of methyl acrylate reaches 94.5% after reacting for 1h.
